Sealed bids marked “Bid for Town of Sedgewick Wild Rose Co-op Recreation Centre – Arena HVAC Upgrade” will be received through the Bids and Tenders - Online Bidding System up to 3:00 pm local time on May 13, 2021. Bids submitted after the Online Bidding System closing time will not be accepted by the Online Bidding System. The time as indicated by the declining time clock on the Online Bidding System shall be the official time for closing.

The work at Wild Rose Co-op Recreation Centre Arena includes:

  • Install new variable air volume Makeup Air Unit (MAU) with Heat recovery, complete with control system for heat recovery, ventilation, and CO2 control.
  • Install new gas line from meter to all new appliances and MAU.
  • Install new gas unit heaters as shown on drawings.
  • Install new ductwork and DuctSox system per drawings.
  • Relocate miscellaneous appliance vents to facilitate ductwork installation.
  • Install new wall mounted 120/208V-600V transformer to step up voltage to reduce voltage drop.
  • Install new electrical panel to feed the MAU in the Zamboni area.
  • Install fire alarm duct smoke detector and relay shut down of MAU and connect to existing fire alarm control panel c/w fire alarm Verification.
  • Install new step down transformer with a new 120/208V panel to feed the electrical devices in the Zamboni area.
  • Install new power to Unit Heaters
  • Install new screw piles and steel frame for HVAC equipment
  • Install new chain link fence around HVAC equipment

Contract Documents will be available on the Bids and Tenders website (https://ae.bidsandtenders.ca) on or after Friday, April 23,  2021. Bidders are required to check for any updated information and addenda issued before the closing date and time at the Bids and Tenders website (https://ae.bidsandtenders.ca).

Any changes to the Bid Documentation will be issued by means of written addenda and posted to the BuildWorks and Bids and Tenders websites and will form part of the Bid. No amendment of any kind to the tenderer is effective unless it is posted in a formal written addendum. Upon submitting to this Bid, Bidders will be deemed to have received notice of all addenda that have been posted and deemed to have considered the information for inclusion in the tender submitted.

Technical inquiries by bidders are to be submitted via Bids and Tenders before 5:00 pm, May 10, 2021. Any other questions may be directed to Job Choa via email at choaj@ae.ca . AE reserves the right to not to respond to technical questions submitted via email or any other questions after the inquiry date noted hereof. Relevant questions will be responded via addendum.

 

A Mandatory Bidders’ Briefing is scheduled for May 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at Wild Rose Co-op Recreation Centre, located at 5301 51 Street, Sedgewick, AB.

All bidders attending the briefing will be required to confirm their attendance including the attendee’s name, phone number, and company to choaj@ae.ca. Confirmation of the bidder’s attendance will be required by 1:00 pm, May 3, 2021. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, no personnel without a confirmation of attendance will be allowed to enter the premises.

All attendees will be required to wear appropriate PPE (safety boots, hard hat, vest), and must follow the latest directions from Alberta Health Services. Masks will be required at all times, while on site.

The project is scheduled to be awarded on or after May 20, 2021.

The lowest or any bid will not necessarily be accepted.
